1. Dates and deadlines:
Until January 15, 2020, at 23h59 pm - Deadline for submission of Scientific Papers

How should I send my work?
(The process is quite simple!)

1st - Fill out the Congress Registration Form.

2nd - Issue and pay the bill for the job submission fee according to the number of papers to be sent (1 or 2).

3rd - After the submission fee payment compensation, the Submission Form will be available in your Subscriber Area. The time to the payment compensation is three business days.

4th - At this time it is not mandatory to pay the Congress registration, but if your work is approved you can only submit it if your registration is paid.

2. Abstract Submission Policies

2.1. Each Author can submit two (2) Abstracts as First author to XXIII COBRAF. However, there is no limit to the number of times an individual may appear as a co-author on abstracts. Enter the first author's contact email, at the end of affiliations and indicated by an asterisk;

2.2. Abstracts will be accepted in Portuguese, Spanish and English;

2.3. Original papers and systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis will be accepted;

2.4. Study protocols will not be accepted;

2.5. First Author must be the abstract presenter on the XXIII COBRAF;

2.6. To assure annals organization and authors index, highlight your name on all abstracts you appear as author;

2.7. Submission fee for each abstract will be R$30,00 (Thirty Brazilian Reais) not refundable (even for rejected abstracts or duplicate submitted abstracts). The guidelines to pay the submission fee will be detailed on the system in the time of submission. Check if the same abstract has not been sent more than once;

2.8. Verify correct filling of submission form. Once submitted, the abstract cannot be edited.

2.9 . All submitted abstracts will be analyzed by ad hoc reviewers . Exclusively the scientific committee will decide on the acceptance of abstracts on the XXIII COBRAF;

2.10. Work involving human subjects must have been performed in accordance with Resolution No. 466 of December 12, 2012 and Resolution 510 of April 7, 2016 of the National Health Council (CNS). The certificate number (CAAE) must be indicated at the specified location of the submission form. Regarding animal studies, they must comply with the Ordinances and Regulations considered adopted by the Animal Use Ethics Commission (CEUA) and/or the "Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals; Institute of Laboratory Animal Research; Life Sciences Commission National Research Council, Washington/USA ", and the CEUA registration number must be indicated at the specified location on the submission form. Original works with humans or animals without CAAE number or CEUA registration, respectively, will not be accepted;

2.11. In the case of a systematic review, the submission form provides a specific field for entering the registration number in PROSPERO (systematic review protocol registration basis). However, filling this field in the submission form is not required;

2.12. Presentations related to commercial products should focus on the physiological and/or applied aspects and not on the product or the commercial aspects of it. In addition, it is emphasized that the presentation should provide a complete discussion of the scientific and/or therapeutic validity of the benefits and risks of the product, when appropriate;

2.13. At the time of submission, the author will indicate the presentation preference:
I - Oral 8.2: characterized by 8 minutes of presentation and 2 minutes of argument;
II - Expo5: 5 minutes oral presentation consisting of 5 slides;
III - Poster;

2.14. Based on the judge's evaluation and its quality, the scientific committee reserves the right to reallocate a paper to another form of presentation. Due to the amount of work submitted in the latest editions of COBRAF, most presentations will be organized in poster format;

2.15. When submitting the paper, the author should classify it in a large area by selecting pre- established descriptors in the submission system, as described below:

A01. Theoretical Studies, Basic and Experimental Area Applied to Physical Therapy: Works related to basic and general theoretical assumptions, or works that use animal models whose results apply to physical therapy;

A02. Physical Therapy in Collective Health and Public Policies: Epidemiological work and/or focusing on public policies and/or care in the context of public health, including health promotion, functionality and disease prevention in population groups with or without disability;

A03. Social Management and Control: Papers that discuss community participation in public management, and that include pedagogical practices in the field of research and management, in the context of Physiotherapy;

A04. Ethics, Teaching and Research in Physiotherapy: Works focusing on the theoretical- practical discussion about the political-pedagogical projects of physiotherapy teaching, training of the physiotherapist and experiences permeated by evidence-based practice and different teaching-learning methodologies;

A05. Physical Therapy in Child and Adolescent Health and Functionality: Works involving measurement or evaluation processes, instrumentation, relationship between outcomes or intervention directed to the health and functionality of children and adolescents;

A06. Physical Therapy in Adult Health and Functionality: Works involving measurement or evaluation processes, instrumentation, relationship between outcomes or intervention directed to the health and functionality of men and/or women, whether in the context of daily, occupational or sports life;

A07. Physiotherapy in the Health and Functioning of the Elderly: Works involving measurement or evaluation processes, instrumentation, relationship between outcomes or intervention directed to the health and functionality of the elderly, whether in the context of daily, occupational or sports life;

A08. Technological innovation in physiotherapy: Works that propose new products, processes and technological resources applied to the context of physiotherapy;

2.16. The submitting author will be notified
by email registered in the submission system of the acceptance/rejection within the deadline stipulated in Item 1 of this call;

2.17. Authors must handle the submission and registration fee, as well as other costs associated with the trip to present their work at XXIII COBRAF. The scientific committee recommends that authors not submit a paper if they are unsure of their presence in Congress;

2.18. By submitting the paper, the authors agree to all event rules set out in these Standards and authorize the publication of the paper(s) in the media of the XXIII Brazilian Congress of Physical Therapy, being responsible for the content presented;

2.19. After the deadline stipulated in Item 1, there will no longer be the possibility of submission of papers. Please be aware of the time lag between payment and submission of the submission form which is three business days.

3. Summary preparation:

3.1. All summary information will be entered electronically in the XXIII COBRAF submission area;

3.2. The abstract should be structured and must contain the following items: Introduction; objective; method; results; conclusion; descriptors; thanks (optional item and should be inserted after the descriptors). The abstract should be written with justified alignment, on a page and limited to 400 words (counting only the body text);

3.3. The descriptors are limited to three (3) words and must be separated by semicolons. It is recommended that authors access the DECS platform (Descriptors in Health Sciences: ) from BVS to select descriptors to be included at the end of the abstract;

3.4. The title should be brief and succinct, with no more than 22 words;

3.5. The authors limit stipulated by summary will be eight (8). Load only the contact e-mail of the responsible author at the end of affiliations and indicated by asterisk;

3.6. The objective should be written clearly and be consistent with the research question posed by the work. The presentation of the hypotheses of the study after the objective is optional;

3.7. The method should be written in plain text and contain information regarding the description of participants, approval by the Ethics Committee (CAAE number or registration with CEUA, should only be indicated at the location specified on the submission form), evaluation procedures, outcomes ( if any), a brief description of the equipment used, intervention procedures (if any) and statistical analysis. Other necessary information may be included, depending on the type of study and at the author's discretion, as long as it does not exceed the 400 word limit;

3.8. The results should present the main findings of the research, based on the entire procedure described in the method. Include numerical results indicating the significance (P value). In case of intervention studies include the size of the found effect and respective 95% confidence interval (95% CI). The information should be concise and objective;

3.9. The conclusion must focus on the results and be consistent with the proposed objectives. Include the practical/clinical implications of the study, when possible;

3.10. Abstracts that are not in accordance with the model and with the submission rules will be automatically disqualified;

3.11. All approved abstracts will be included in the annals of the XXIII Brazilian Congress of Physiotherapy, registered in the ISSN system;

3.12. The five (5) best work of each presentation mode will receive certificates of merit and academic awards.

4. Criteria for assessment work

4.1. After completion of the Submission, the papers will be sent to ad hoc reviewers for judgment on the merits thereof. The evaluation process will be blind;

4.2. The following items will be analyzed and grades 0-10, it will be assigned to each:

4.2.1. Today, originality and relevance of the topic;

4.2.2. Title relevance;

4.2.3. Contextualized introduction;

4.2.4. Relevance of the objectives and coherence of hypotheses (if any);

4.2.5. Adequacy, quality and description of the method;

4.2.6. Relevance of the results and consistency with the method;

4.2.7. Foundation, consistency and reach completion;

4.2.8. Quality of writing and organization of the text (clarity and objectivity);

4.2.9. Relevance of the practical implications and/or clinical arising from the study;

4.3. The final note of the work will be calculated by averaging the scores attributed to each item;

4.4. They will be accepted with final score greater than or equal to six (6).

5. Rules to abstract presentation

5.1. All the abstracts approved by the Scientific Commission will be presented as oral modality Oral 8.2, Expo5 or poster modality;

5.2. All Papers presented will be accused during the realization of the Congress and will be competing for the awards provided for in item 6 of these Rules;

5.3. There shall be no change in the established schedule for the presentations of the work;

5.4. For Poster Session, the following instructions should be observed;

5.4.1. The sessions will be organized at times and predetermined periods;

5.4.2. Authors should stay close to their poster during the set period of the session, even after being accused by the evaluation commission;

5.5. For Oral Session (Oral 8.2 e Expo5), the following instructions should be observed:

5.5.1. In the "Oral 8.2", each participant will have 8 minutes to present the work to the Appraiser Commission followed by 2 minutes for complaint;

5.5.2. In the "Expo5", each participant will have five minutes to present the work before the Evaluation Committee. Each session "Expo5" will comprise the presentation of four (4) work sequentially. At the end of the four (4) presentations there will be a period of 5 minutes for discussion/complaint from the public and evaluation commission.

6. Awards

6.1. Certificates of Academic Merit will be approved and the author(s) of the three (3) best works in each mode of presentation (Oral 8.2 Expo5 and poster) will be award;

6.2. The award will be held on the last day of the event. The local and more details will be informed at the opening of the XXIII COBRAF.
